Supporting Parents,
Strengthening Families

Parenting wasn’t meant to be done alone—especially when your child is struggling. Whether you’re facing anxiety, intense emotions, grief, or challenges with screen time, it can be hard to know the best way to help.

But Here’s What I Want
You To Know:

You are the most important resource in your child’s life, and with the right support, you can make a lasting difference.

As a therapist, educator, and proud mom of two, I understand firsthand the complexities of raising children and teens. This experience deeply influences my compassion for and commitment to supporting parents like you.

Through therapy groups, community workshops, and expert guidance, I help parents feel more confident and less overwhelmed. My approach is rooted in connection, innovation, and real-world strategies that work for families.

My Story:

With 25 years of experience as a social worker and clinician—including nearly a decade at CHEO’s inpatient mental health and palliative care units—I have supported countless families through difficult moments. For the past 15 years, I have worked in private practice, focusing on children and families. I’ve also taught in Carleton University’s Social Work department and lead workshops on creating tech-healthy families and communities.

As a social worker, I recognize how societal influences and changes shape mental health, especially the recent rise in youth mental health struggles. I approach parents with a no-blame mindset, emphasizing that societal shifts, not individual parenting are often at the root of these struggles. I also advocate for change at a community level to create better support systems for families.

As an Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) therapist, I believe that parents don’t just need strategies—they need emotional support. My work helps parents not only learn how to guide their child through challenges but also work through their own emotional struggles, so they can feel more empowered, grounded, and prepared for what’s ahead.
